The Black History Committee of Orange County, Inc. 

has been in existence for over 21 years. The Committee started as a group of Employees under the direction of Commissioner Mable Butler.

The mission of the Black History Committee of Orange County, Inc., (BHCOC) is to bring awareness and educate the citizens of Orlando/Orange County and America about Black History, which is a vital source of American History.

Accomplishments

The Black History Committee of Orange County, Inc., has donated over $400,000 to local schools, colleges and universities in Orlando and throughout the State of Florida (Pineloch Elementary, Olympia High School, Valencia College, University of Central Florida, Florida A&M University, Bethune Cookman University, Edward Waters College, Florida Memorial University, and Rollins College).

Recent Recipients

The Black History Committee of Orange County Inc. has donated over $400,000.00 in Scholarships to over 200 African American Students who wish to obtain an advanced degree.
